The Process of Becoming

Biography

I am a driven and adaptable business student with a passion for innovation and social impact. My experience in Enactus BCIT has taught me the value of teamwork, problem-solving, and community engagement. I am a quick learner with a strong work ethic and a proven ability to contribute to meaningful projects. Life scares me, but a fast heart rate never hurt anyone, right?

One of the biggest challenges in life for most people is performing at their very best. How would you define it? For me, right now, it's about the process of becoming. I am the best that I can be at this moment. I'm building the skills necessary to become influential and leadership material.

The Pivot

The Problem of Value

In 2023, I graduated into the AI boom. Small businesses were being convinced that entry-level developers were no longer necessary. After six months managing a Shopify store for a kitchen manufacturer, the funding for my position vanished.

By the fall of 2024, after a brutal no-hiring spree, I asked myself the question that changed everything: "How can I be truly valuable to people?"

In 2025, I dove into reading business books (see list below) and returned to campus for a Business degree.

I now focus on increasing the value I bring to the table by building skills in photography, web, business, sales, and leadership.

The Impact

Solving for Global Impact

With a foundation in business and sales established, I asked myself the next logical question: "What problem do I actually want to solve?"

I am deeply purpose-driven. To find my answer, I needed a problem that matched the scale of my ambition: something massive, something global. My photography had already guided my desire to care for nature, and my love for innovation pulled me into Climate Tech.

I am now directing my energy into the intricacies of carbon markets, carbon capture, and fusion power. My mission is to apply my technical and business sense to the most critical, global challenge of our time: climate change.

The Philosophy of Presence

You Can't Truly Connect With Someone if You're Not Present in the Moment.

I removed all of my social media accounts. I believe in connections and community, but I also believe in the power of being present and engaged in the moment. I am a big believer in the idea that you can't truly connect with someone if you're not present in the moment.

I also believe that it's important to be intentional about the connections you make. That's why I chose LinkedIn as my primary (and only) social media platform. All the others tried too hard to distract me and pull me away from what matters most. I'm not saying that social media is bad, but I think it's important to be mindful of how we use it.

The 26-Book Challenge

In January of 2025, I was unemployed, and had been unemployed for over 7 months. I felt stuck with no ambition. I lost hope of finding a career.

With the new year sparking a desire in me to improve, I set a challenge: To become a reader. I used to read all the time as a kid and I was longing for stories, wisdom, and a reason to learn. So I promised to read one book every two weeks.

All-in-all, reading has sparked growth in me. It made me more patient and capable of doing boring things without getting distracted.

Most importantly, I learned that I'm not on Earth to live a life for me. I'm here for other people. I'm here to serve. The more grateful I become and the more humility I have, the happier I am.
